Many of these are endemic to the Eastern and Southern Cape, making them unavailable in the northern regions of South Africa and Botswana. These exclusive trophies are significantly rarer than the more abundant plains game, making them standout additions to a collector’s

HUNTING METHODS
RIFLE HUNTING
While smaller calibres are adequate for smaller antelope, the .270 Win should be considered the minimum for most medium-sized plains game species. When planning your hunt for African plains game, it’s advisable to bring a rifle you are thoroughly familiar with. Popular choices include various 7mm, .30-06, and .300-Win Mag rifles. When hunting dangerous game, such as lion and Cape buffalo, the .375 calibre is the minimum legal requirement in most African countries. Our preferred calibre, and one that has proven highly effective for our clients, is the .416 Rigby
BOW HUNTING
A bow hunting safari typically requires slightly more time than a rifle hunting safari targeting the same species. When booking one of our packages, a good rule of thumb is to extend the duration by two or three days, compared to what is typically advised for rifle hunting the same animals. For instance, we recommend a minimum of seven days for pursuing five trophy animals with a bow. The ideal time for bow hunting is during the winter months, from late May to early September. During this period, water sources are scarce, leading to higher concentrations of game around waterholes and significantly enhancing the success rate of your safari.
WILD BIRD HUNTING
For wing shooting connoisseurs who relish the thrill of hunting wild flocks of birds, we offer upland, waterfowl, flighted dove and pigeon hunts in the Karoo and Free State. These include Guineafowl, a variety of Francolin and Spurfowl species, various doves and pigeons, three species of sandgrouse, three varieties of quail, numerous duck species, as well as Ostrich, the world’s largest bird.
